Permits and notice to proceed

What this is

Each deal has its own permits list, kept by your team: every permit, licence and approval the project needs, who issues it, where it stands, when it expires and the document. SolarQuant does not say which permits a project needs. It reads permit documents you upload and offers them for the list.

In short

- Permits are on the deal's Documents tab, under Permits . - Needed before links a permit to a stage: it becomes a checklist item that ticks when the permit is approved. - Permits expiring within 90 days show in Needs attention . Notice to proceed is the last stage of the two co-investor deal types.

Who this is for

Development and due diligence teams. The list is private to your organisation.

Steps: add permits

1. Open a deal, click Documents , then Permits . 2. Click Add permit , or Start from a template ( From a template once the list has permits) to start from a list your organisation saved on an earlier deal. 3. Fill in the Permit name , Issuing authority , Status , the Submitted , Approved and Expiry dates, the Reference and a Note . 4. Under Document , pick the permit file from the deal's files (upload it in Files first). 5. Under Needed before , pick a stage. A checklist item "Permit: name" is added to that stage and ticks itself when the permit is approved. 6. Click Add permit (or Save when editing). Use Save as template to reuse the list on your next deal.

If SolarQuant has read a permit in the deal's files that is not on the list yet, it shows under Found in your documents . Click Add to the list , then check each value before you add it.

Statuses and reminders

- A permit is Not applied yet , Applied , Approved or Refused . - An approved permit that expires within 90 days shows Expires in N days , and one that has passed its date shows Expired . - Expiring and expired permits appear in Needs attention on the Pipeline Overview, with a Permits button. - When an approved permit expires, its checklist item opens again, so a lapsed permit no longer lets the deal through that stage. - When the permit has a document and an expiry date, the document's expiry follows the permit.

Notice to proceed

The two co-investor deal types, C&I investor and co-developer and Utility-scale co-investor , run from origination to Notice to proceed . Its checklist includes Notice to proceed issued (and, for the utility-scale type, Equity funded ). The Utility-scale developer type has a Financial close / NTP stage, and the C&I developer type asks for the notice to proceed to the EPC at Financial close . Tick or upload these like any other checklist item.
