What this is
A shared room is a private space between your team and one other organisation, or a few people you invite by email. You choose which folders and files it shows, you can ask each other for documents, ask and answer questions, and talk in one place. Each side keeps its own private deal: a room only shows what you put in it.
In short
- Open a room from your deal's Shared rooms tab with New shared room . Developers, investors and lenders can all do this on their own deals. - Files open after the NDA is signed, if the room needs one. - An accepted Deal Marketplace intro opens a room by itself.
Who can open a room
Any team can open a room from its own deal, whether you are a developer, an investor or a lender. So an investor can open a room with a developer, and a developer can open one with an investor or lender. You need edit access (viewers cannot open rooms). The other side is either:
- a verified organisation on SolarQuant (every member of that organisation sees the room; their viewers can only read), or - guests you invite by email, for example an advisor or auditor. Guests sign in to SolarQuant but do not need a workspace. They can View or View and comment . Inviting guests depends on your role in the workspace.
An organisation can have only one open room per deal.
Steps: open a room
1. Open the deal and click the Shared rooms tab. 2. Click New shared room . 3. Who is it for? Search Verified organisations from the Deal Marketplace and pick one. Or type a person's email and click Invite guest , name the room (for example Brightwater Engineering) and add more emails with Add . 4. Pick Their role : Investor , Lender , Advisor , EPC or Other . Investor and lender rooms move through stages: NDA, data room, Q&A, indicative terms, due diligence. Other rooms have no stages and stay open until you close them. 5. What do they see? Tick whole folders (new files in those folders appear in the room automatically), or click Pick single files . Optionally tick Checklist items to ask them for : each becomes a request in the room and ticks itself when they upload. 6. Set the Room settings : NDA required , Watermark files (the viewer's name on every PDF page), Access ends , Can download , and for investors and lenders an optional ticket and instrument. 7. Click Create room . The room opens. The other organisation gets a notification, or your guests get an email invite.
The NDA
With NDA required on, files open only after the NDA is signed. In a room with an organisation, both sides click Sign the NDA . In a guest room only the guests sign. Only members who can act for their organisation can sign.
Rooms from the Deal Marketplace
When a Deal Marketplace intro is accepted, a shared room opens on the developer's deal with the funder as investor or lender, and the funder gets the deal in their own Pipeline. These rooms show From Deal Marketplace .
Where to find your rooms
Pipeline Shared rooms lists Rooms you run and Rooms you're invited to , open requests and questions, and filters such as Waiting on you . Guests find their rooms under Shared with me .
