What this is
Every stage has an exit checklist: the documents, approvals and tasks to finish before the next stage. Items can have an owner and a due date, some tick themselves, and conditions from a committee decision land here too.
In short
- Tick, edit or waive items on the deal's Checklist tab. Tasks live on the deal's Overview tab and in My tasks . - Some items tick themselves from other modules, matching uploads, room requests and approved permits. - Conditions from a decision can be accepted or waived, never deleted.
Who this is for
Team members working a deal. Changing the template for every future deal is done in Stages & checklists by people who can configure the workspace.
Steps: work the checklist
1. Open a deal and click the Checklist tab. Pick a stage on the left. The middle shows that stage's exit checklist. Investor and lender due diligence is grouped by workstream. 2. Filter with All , Open , Done or Mine . 3. Tick an item's box to mark it done. Use the ... menu for Edit , Mark done with a note , Mark in progress , Not needed (you must say why) or Reopen . 4. For a file item, click Upload on the row. The file is linked and the item ticks. 5. To add an item for this deal only, click Add item to this deal's checklist (or File , Task or Approval ). Set the Item , Kind , Owner (or someone outside the team), Due date, Linked file , Note and whether it is Required to move on . Editing an item from the stage template changes it on this deal only.
A red star marks required items. Moving past a stage with required items open asks for a reason (see Adding and moving deals).
Items that tick themselves
The Ticks itself card lists items linked to other modules: Financial model screened, Payment risk grade, Offer sent, Offer accepted, Data room open with a funder, NDA signed in the shared room, and Model shared in the data room. Items also tick when SolarQuant files an upload that matches them, when you link a file, when the other side uploads for a room request linked to the item, and when a permit linked to the stage is approved.
Conditions from decisions
When a committee approves with conditions, each condition becomes a Condition item on the deal, in the stage after the approval. A condition can be accepted or marked Not needed (waived), but not deleted, because it belongs to the recorded decision.
Tasks
- On the deal's Overview tab, the Tasks card holds work that is not a checklist item. Click Add a task , say what needs doing, pick who does it and a due date, then Add task . - My tasks in the sidebar lists your tasks and the checklist items you own across every deal. Switch to Everyone to see the whole team. Tick a row to mark it done. The By deal panel shows which deals have the most open and overdue work.
